This week has been full of progress. Josie has been doing well at her canter. We moved her into a new stall and she loves having a new friend next to her. She is a really social horse.

Our wonderful and amazing Equine Chiropractor, Dr. Fred Mousel from Alton, Iowa was here on Sunday to give Josie a much needed treatment. We have found that Chiropractic treatment on horses in training is almost as necessary as food and water. The past 4 years we have seen dramatic results. I think Dr. Mousel was curious prior to arrival on how his "wild mustang" patient would react. I am certain that when he left, he had a soft spot for Josie and told me on numerous occasions how pleasantly surprised he was with her demeanor. Josie's was "out" in her right hip and wither area. I am sure that in a few weeks we will see a horse that is traveling even better than she is now.

Her mane is growing!

I'm glad to hear she's working so well under saddle. What "horse jobs" do you think she'll be best suited for?

I think the only thing "wild" about Josie is her haircut!!!!! She was great to handle and work with. Very seldom is a very handled horse THAT bidable. Maybe it is because she has not been spoiled by people yet, haha She is a very fluid mover on top of it. You go Josie!

Horse jobs hmmm..... Well Josie is a tried and true trail mount. She literally does not have a mean bone in her body and actually would rather play than work. She is going to be a great trail horse as she is spooky, but takes on look and realizes that it is not a mountain lion and just moves on. So she is a "spook in place" horse. LOL

Sundog, You are the bomb! Thanks for the nice comments and maybe you should consider a vacation weekend during the Madison Horse Fair? Supper is on me!
